How do I pick a good lash artist?
We’ve all seen the horrible, hacked jobs and think, “oh no, im never getting THAT done.”
As a lash artist, I can definitely tell you that not all work is created equal. With eyelash extensions, there has to be great care and attention to detail. We only have two pairs of eyes, why wouldn’t you make sure you’re getting the best?
Many people think you can take one class and BOOM - you’re a lash artist. Not quite. You need the proper licensing, practice, practice, more courses, practice, more courses, and practice. A person’s experience means EVERYTHING in the lash industry. If they’re new - they better be hungry for more education.
Location - Although there are some eyelash extension artists who work from home, presentation is key. If you get there and you’re asked to lay on the floor while getting extensions and their dog is running around, you better run too. A respectful home-studio will have a clean, set-apart area where the business is run from with privacy and safety.
Products - If an artist refuses to tell you the brands of products she uses, that’s a red flag. An experienced artist knows the product is not what brings good results, experience is.
Professionalism - Are you being asked about your history? Are they happy to answer your questions? Are they kind, patient and understanding?
Cleanliness - Are their products and tools stored away? If you arrive and see tweezers everywhere, run!
