Lashes and Pregnancy/PostPartum

Hi friends! it has been a while since we’ve caught up.

Im a mom now, and my my what i’ve learned about lashes!

On top of the other changes our bodies go through, our hair and lashes and brows go through their own changes. So how does this affect your appointments?

When you’re pregnant, make sure you always double check with your medical provider and get the OK to get services especially if you have a tough time laying down for a prolonged time.

Lashes: During pregnancy, our hair growth cycle is extended and we have all those yummy vitamins that give us the most luscious, long and shiny hair we’ve ever seen. That’s because the keratin coating on our hair and lashes is thickened and that can mean changes in beauty services. Our hormones make changes to our hair texture and this is seen especially in hair and lash appointmentsl

When getting a lash lift, you’ll probably need about 3-5 more minutes of processing the creams than normal. Your brows may not grab tint as well or hold as well as they used to, and your brow lamination might stay longer or shorter depending on which trimester you’re on.

When we reach 4 months postpartum, we naturally shed so much hair. It’s unfair right? Same with lashes and brows. Our body is trying to go back to its normal hormone amount, and sometimes this can happen later if you’re still breastfeeding or pumping.

Overall, these changes tend to be temporary and can be anticipated. The important part is to communicate with your service provider about what’s happening so you can both pivot your approach to your services.
